SAN LORENZO MOUNTAIN LODGE 5*

When renovating the historically and architecturally valuable “Unterramwaldhof“, a 16th century hunting lodge, Giorgia and Stefano Barbini took great care to respect the balance between tradition and innovation. In cooperation with the protection of monuments authority and with the support of local craftsmen they were able to renovate the estate in such a way that the original structure and its characteristic features were preserved: The entry hall’s vaulted ceiling is a rare example of the Alpine Renaissance style, the fine carving and inlaying of the massive antique doors are equally remarkable, and the original wooden beams, so steeped in history, still grace nearly every room.

With the exception of some carefully selected design pieces, all of the furnishings were custom built by local artisans according to the Barbini’s design. Stefano even crafted some of the individual furniture pieces himself. Using sublime fabrics and the finest of textiles in combination with a wide array of aesthetic details, the style-savvy couple created a retreat that immediately captivates each and every guest. An irresistible synthesis of absolute naturalness, authentic craftsmanship, stylish charm, and understated elegance is discernable throughout the house.

Today, San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is a unique luxury estate with a great deal of charm that accommodates up to a maximum of ten guests and may be rented only in its entirety. On the main floor, three ample living areas provide plenty of space and freedom. On the upper floor, there is a beautifully arranged lounge with fireplace and 4 bedrooms, three double suites and one room with two bunk beds.

The compact yet exquisite spa upstairs offers a Finnish sauna – designed and handcrafted by Stefano from 200-year-old wood sourced from a neighboring farm – a Turkish bath, a spacious whirlpool, and an experience shower clad in warm natural stone. In addition, an experienced therapist and wellness coach is made available upon request.
