Behind Ski Lodge Engelberg is the story of two old ski friends who got fed up with their desk jobs, and chose to pursue a lifelong dream. Ski Lodge a independent hotel and not a large franchise facility with identical cookie cutter rooms. They have personally overseen the renovation of every corner of the house and try to blend its 1904 heritage with a modern twist. Ski Lodge Engelberg was crafted after the type of hotels that the owners enjoy staying at themselves. Hearty breakfasts, comfortable beds and personal service are all ingredients that make a holiday better. The staff at Ski Lodge Engelberg is ready to help you with everything – from how to soothe those aching feet to where to find the best snow conditions after last week’s snowfall.
ROOMS: Every room is designed for maximum relaxation after a long day on the mountain and includes WiFi, cable TV, and en-suite bathrooms with shower or bath. There are 39 rooms and 83 beds in total. Many of the rooms have balconies and all of them have views of the surrounding mountains.
SAUNA & HOTTUB: Wood-fired sauna and hot tub in the garden to relax after skiing.
FOOD & DRINK: Brasserie Konrad is the well-known restaurant at Ski Lodge. It is named after the founder of Engelberg, Konrad von Sellenbüren who rode into Engelberg 900 years ago to found the monastery. They gather their inspiration from the Swiss Alps, Northern Italy, France and their Swedish heritage and are truly passionate about local produce. Switzerland boasts some of the best cheese, meat and wine in the world.
Après-Ski is a very essential part of skiing. It is where you really can inform others about the perfect turns you took, the powder they missed and the endless views from the top. That is why they have skipped the live band, and created a bustling but talk friendly place to gather with your friends after skiing: the bar at Ski Lodge Engelberg. During the late ski season, the move the aprés outdoor, with burgers and beer in the sun. The guys in the bar are at your service from 4 pm to midnight every day to pour beer, shake drinks & gossip. And they have some bar food as well if you need an energy refill!
LOCATION: If you put your finger in the middle of a map of Switzerland, you are most likely pointing at Ski Lodge. The unbeatable location means that it is quick and easy for you to reach the village. Engelberg is located 85 km from Zürich and the Ski Lodge is centrally located 25 metres from the train station. The closest airport is Zürich (ZRH), which is an hour by car and 2.20 by train.
