400 kilometres of mountain biking bliss: the Engadin bike routes are a massive network of buffed trails for all abilities. Riders seeking the most challenging ascent, a stunning panorama trail, or a thrilling descent will benefit from the insider knowledge of Epic Europe's team of local guides. The ski lifts transport bikers to the high alpine – where you'll find plenty of options from mellow dirt roads to XC itineraries, wild enduro trails or flowy downhill tracks. Explore the different mountain resorts using the lifts in Celerina and Corviglia. Get to the top of Piz Nair at 3’056m for an unforgettable ride down the Val Biver. For the ultimate flowy experience, get on the Bernina Express biking trail. The freshly prepared Bernina trails are an absolute dream for mountain-biking enthusiasts. The track starts just behind Pontresina, from where an easily negotiable, undulating path winds through the forests up to the Bernina Pass. Over and over again, you are treated to spectacular views of the mighty glaciers. Soon after arriving at the top, you can branch off directly towards the Belvedere Hut. However, a quick detour over a high-lying plateau is definitely worthwhile - the view of the Palü glacier is simply stunning. A demanding trail follows the tracks of the Bernina Railway down into the Val Poschiavo. The return journey is by train to the Ospizio Bernina and then by bike back along the Bernina Trail to Pontresina.
The Swiss National Park also offers a multi-day adventure, circumnavigating the park and crossing borders. This is a challenging XC itinerary for the fitter riders. But just as scenic and fulfilling are day-trips throughout the valley, using the C ski trail system of dirt roads to introduce beginner bikers or families to the magic of the Engadin Valley. And for the Enduro / DH enthusiasts, a day-trip to Davos / Klosters by train is a must, to explore the varied bike park tracks there, which are just as legendary throughout the Swiss Alps.
