Verbier is the perfect destination for younger skiers as well as the young-at-heart. While it’s renowned for its Après-Ski, that doesn’t mean that kids aren’t allowed for a milder version – with a cup of hot chocolate!
A part of the 4 Vallées ski area, Verbier offers more than 410km of runs, and over 100 ski-lifts, with diverse options for all the members of the family. There is a family ski pass reduction, and even better, all kids under 8 ski for free. For the smallest, nursery slopes are located right in the center of town. Les Esserts has a lift and a magic carpet, Les Moulins has a private little snow garden, and Le Rouge is a little bit more challenging, but also is available for sledding.
On the mountain, the La Chaux area offers great blue wide runs on gentle terrain with easy access with the La Chaux-Express chairlift & gondola, and allows the little ones to experience the upper mountain. For the young kids and teenagers, the Swatch snowpark located offers a multitude of varied modules including kickers, rails, boxes and a big airbag. We have hand-picked the best ski instructors, who understand exactly how to engage kids of all ages, and keep lessons entertaining. The adults can ski together in the morning and meet the kids for lunch after their ski lesson. Also, we can arrange reservations at the best mountain restaurants. Children can also join the Kids’ Club for group lessons if desired. In town, there is a childcare called Les Schtroumpfs and different playgrounds where even pre-skiers can have fun in the snow.
A great adventure for a complete day with the family and on the skis is to ski over to the end of the 4 Vallées ski area in Thyon and back. Or, if they want a day off from skiing, Verbier has exceptional non-skier activities like sledding, ice skating, hockey or dogsledding. Experience the longest toboggan run in western Switzerland – the 10km long run from the top of the Savoleyres gondola down to La Tzoumaz guarantees adrenaline and laughs. When night falls, enjoy moonlight toboggan evenings with dinners at mountain restaurants.
