VERBIER HELI-SKI

The Valais Region's Freeride Capital is home to some of the Best Heliskiing in the Swiss Alps

With powder runs stretching from along the French border to the Val d'Herens, Verbier offers a wide range of heliskiing options for all abilities.

Verbier has long had a reputation as a freeride skiing paradise, with unlimited off-piste and backcountry access right from the lifts, but when the classic powder runs get tracked out, those in the know call in the helicopter for some of the best heliski descents in Switzerland. With 3 distinct local drop points, there are variations in every direction – throw your ski-touring equipment in the mix, and possibilities are endless.

A quick flight across the Val de Bagnes puts you on top of the Petit Combin (3663m), with everything from gentle powder fields across the Glacier de Corbassiere, or steeper lines off the North Face. In spring conditions, long south-facing runs off the south side await, stretching all the way to the Val d’Entremeont.

Or head towards the French border, and land on the Plateau de Trient, part of the Argentière massif. From there, a series of vast north-facing couloirs deliver you to the Val d’Arpette, some of the most exciting sustained pitches in the region. A flight to the east delivers the summit of the Pigne d’Arolla, with long varied runs down to the namesake valley. And the Rosa Blanche is the perfect intro-run for intermediate skiers looking to test their off-piste capabilities.
