Verbier is known for the most diverse trail riding in the Swiss Alps.
A guided mountain bike trip in Verbier is the perfect base camp to access the massive network of trails surrounding the Rhône Valley. The region is littered with world-class downhill tracks and undiscovered singletracks through forest, high alpine and farm country. Not to mention countless trams, trains, and shuttle rides that we use throughout the region to gain altitude for some of the best descents in the Alps. Stretching from the Rhône Glacier in the OberWallis, at the head of the valley, and all the way to Lac Leman, there are almost too many different zones to explore in a summer season, much less a week.
Verbier, home to some of the Alps' best wintertime freeriding, is no different in the summer. With an excellent ski lift system, you can access the high rocky alpine, and descend over 2000m of vertical, through lush meadows and technical forests, finishing up in the farm villages, vineyards, or orchards in the valley below. In addition, a well-developed bike park serves up hot laps on technical downhill tracks, freeride jump lines, or more moderate intermediate terrain. For less-experienced riders, use the lifts to access farm and forest roads and double-tracks that can offer an introduction to the region, then step up to trails as you gain confidence.
The Pennine Alps also are blessed with an ancient system of walking trails, and over 500 years of use, they have been buffed clean and are ideal for riding mountain bikes. Only recently has this potential been realized, and we're still discovering new rides all the time. The potential for finding a new epic trail in this part of Switzerland is unlimited, and every ride ends in a postcard-perfect village with a café that serves great food and cold beverages. A week with our MTB guides will barely scratch the surface of the possibilities in this region, setting you up for a return trip in the future!
