Lauberhorn DH / Eiger Adventure - Wengen, Switzerland

The world’s oldest and longest downhill takes place on the Lauberhorn in Wengen, Switzerland, in the shadow of the Eiger. For 80 years, racers have been throwing themselves down the 4.5km course, and you can always count on an exciting performance. We’ll spend 4 days in neighboring Murren, where the James Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was shot, skiing powder and getting ready for the main event. Steep lines and powder are the characteristics of the Schilthorn, and our local guides will show us all the best descents. 

 

Then, we’ll head to Wengen for the race weekend and ski alongside the course like Redford in Downhill Racer. Ski-touring off the Alps’ highest cog train from the Jungfrau, we can drop into the most glaciated region of the Swiss Alps for 6000’ runs before bellying up for the Lauberhorn. 70,000 Swiss ski-racing fans line the course, known as the most demanding and longest on the World Cup circuit. Watch racers plunge over the drop at the "Hundschopf", or negotiate the fall-away "Canadian Corner" over the din of cowbells and the roar of the Swiss Air Force jets flying overhead.
