Secret Heliski: Valgrisenche Italy
The small valley in Val D'Aosta, adjacent to the Gran Paradiso National Park and the Isère Valley, France is home to a small heliskiing operation unlike any other in the Alps. Typically heliskiing in the Alps is limited to specific "legal" landing spots, and constantly fought over by the likes of the WWF and randonée skiers. Not in the Valgrisenche, where this small heli "refuge" hosts exclusive access to over 20 landing sites, and more than one hundred different routes with a vertical drop ranging from 1,300 to 2,100 meters. It's like CMH (Canadian Mountain Holidays) only better - it's in Italy!
