We were thilled to partner with one of mountain biking's most classic brands this year, Yeti Cycles out of Colorado, USA. Since 1986, they have been hand-crafting some of the fastest race-proven bikes, as well as gaining cult status for the cognoscienti who appreciate the detail and design of a smaller bike company. When our SB6C's arrived, we realized that these were the ideal bikes for the kind of riding that we do here in the Swiss Alps and beyond, and since then, we have been putting them through every type of trail that we can throw them down. They are, in a word, unparallelled.
Immediately recognizable as a Yeti by the classic turquoise color that has been a staple since the brand began, these carbon frames are clean and contain all cabling. Besides the Fox Factory Air shock and 36 fork, there is an extra set of Fox Shox hidden in the linkage, just above the bottom bracket. This is Yeti's patented "Infiniti Link" system, which creates a virtual pivot point, and makes the suspension feel completely bottomless. With everything locked out, it pedals like a hardtail. In full-squish, it rides like an ultralight downhill bike. In short - a one-bike quiver. The 27.5" wheels, Rock Shox Reverb seatpost, and full Sram package complete the ideal build.
The kind of riding that we love here in the Alps compliments the backcountry skiing we do in the winter - essentially, it's exploration of the vast network of alpine hiking and pedestrian trails, poring over topo maps to find the ideal exposure, gradient, terrain and location to ride. This summer, it has all come together, both here in our backyard, as well as further afield. With our new Yeti's, we have discovered some of the greatest trails we've ever ridden, and rediscovered some of our old favorites in a brand-new light. With local partners here in Switzerland, our clients can demo these enduro machines on any of our trips in the Alps as well. Thanks again to Yeti Cycles for the best bikes we've ever swung a leg over.
