This past weekend was the 50th anniversary of skiing at our favorite mom-and-pop ski resort, Bruson Switzerland. Only fitting that this would be highlighted by 40cms of fresh snow, not to mention a “fête de patrimoine” with accordion bands and free raclette and wine, held in the alpage cow-barns just on the side of the slopes. Spirits were high among the locals who have been ripping up the steep forests here for a half-century, and the sight of Bruson’s young guns shredding the powder is a reassuring sign of the resort being in good hands for the future. And to cap it all off, the new gondola has been confirmed for a December 2012 opening!
