The Grand Hotel du Lac, a stunning example of where the past meets the present. This historic Art Nouveau building was designed by Swiss architect Ernest Burnat, and recently renovated with interiors from renowned designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. A Relais & Château property located on the shores on Lac Leman in the beautiful city of Vevey. The grounds invite summer guests to linger in the garden, outdoor pool and for long lunches or dinner on the sun terrace of Restaurant La Véranda.
Fully refurbished in 2006 under the direction of Pierre-Yves Rochon, known for his ability to mix classical and contemporary styles, and capturing the true spirit of individual properties. Many nostalgic gems have been preserved, including the ballroom, in the Viennese Art Nouveau style. The 50 rooms and suites offer views of the lake or surrounding mountains, and are finished in soft pastel tones of blue or yellow, accented by ample sunshine through the large windows. The locals in the Lavaux claim they have 3 suns, due to the reflection off the lake and steep south facing hillsides.
FOOD & DRINK: Gourmet cuisine in "Les Saisons" from 1 Michelin-starred chef Thomas Neeser. The cuisine gives pride of place to fresh produce, featuring fish from the lake, and inspiration from the Vaudois terroir and great classics of French haute cuisine.
"La Véranda", casual dining on the terrace overlooking the harbor, Lake Geneva and the majestic Swiss and French Alps.
The Oriental Tearoom, a decadent room in deepest midnight blue, filled with ornately tiled tables, hookahs and Persian accents.
SPA & WELLNESS: Bellefontaine Health & Wellness Center facilities include an outdoor pool, Turkish bath, sauna, massage & treatment rooms and relaxation area.
LOCATION: Nestled in the heart of Montreux Riviera and the Lavaux wine region (a UNESCO World heritage site), Vevey is the birth place of milk chocolate and was home to Charlie Chaplin. The Grand Hotel du Lac is located on the shore of Lake Geneva.
