Epic Europe

GRAND HOTEL LES TROIS ROIS 5*

Basel

Dating back to 1681, the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel is one of Europe’s oldest hotel properties. Overlooking the banks of the river Rhein, the hotel was ideally positioned on a major trade route. One of its earliest illustrious guests is believed to have been Napoléon Bonaparte, who held a business lunch when he met here with the authority of Basel to discuss French-Swiss relations in 1798. Today's guests are less interested in trade routes, but the hotel's riverfront rooms remain much-coveted, especially during the annual Art Basel, when guests book up to one year in advance. World travelers know that this scenic Swiss town is beloved year-round and famous for its art, architecture, and cultural highlights.
