Set in its own park, the Baur au Lac Hotel enjoys a unique location overlooking the lake and the Alps – and yet is still only a few minutes’ walk from the Paradeplatz financial district and the Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich’s celebrated shopping high street. An establishment steeped in 170 years of tradition, the same family has owned Baur au Lac for six generations, welcoming the European high society, politicians, and artists. This still holds true today, especially during the summer months when the garden is filled with locals and tourists alike, enjoying a drink in the terrace.
Tradition has been preserved while updating to the ultimate in comfort and privacy. Rooms are individually decorated in different styles such as Art Deco, French Louis XVI, and English Regency, combined with contemporary features and the most exclusive French, Italian and English fabrics. All furniture and lighting features are custom-made in France, Belgium, England and Germany. Each item was hand-selected with an unfailing sense of style.
WELLNESS: Small fitness center on the rooftop level, overlooking the lake.
FOOD & DRINK: Pavillon Chef Laurent Eperon creates fresh, dynamic and contemporary cuisine. His style is a 21st century interpretation of classic haute cuisine. The Pavillon and Laurent Eperon have been awarded one Michelin-Star and 17 Gault Millau points. The elegant dining room designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon features vintage Lalique chandeliers and glass walls overlooking the surrounding gardens.
Rive Gauche, “fine casual dining” Mediterranean-inspired specialties served in the chic Rive Gauche Bar or in the summer outside on the terrace, a favorite of local and guests.
