The oldest and original hotel in Zermatt, the Seiler Hotel Group has done a beautiful job modernizing and renovating the rooms and suites of the Monte Rosa, while preserving the rich history of Zermatt’s alpine culture.
The classic Monte Rosa is where the past meets the present, combining the beauty and allure of an Alpine belle époque hotel with the modern conveniences. The Monte Rosa was the mountaineering headquarters of Edward Whymper and his team, who were the first to summit the Matterhorn. The stylish Edward’s Bar-Café is a reminder of his alpine pursuits. Zermatt's oldest hotel breathes history from every corner, and has one of the most beautiful historic dining halls in the Valais. The guest rooms are all individually decorated, ranging from classic styling reminiscent of the belle époque period to the modern refurbished suites, with a mix of old and new.
SPA & WELLNESS: All guests have full access to the pool and spa at the Mont Cervin Palace, just a few steps down the road. There you will find indoor/outdoor swimming pool, whirlpool, steam room and fitness area. A full range of massage and beauty treatments are available.
FOOD & DRINK: The Monte Rosa is part of the Seiler Hotel Group’s “dine around” program, with dining options at 9 restaurants; French, Italian, Thai, Japanese, and traditional Swiss specialties. Edward’s Bar, located in the hotel is a trip back in time, decorated with photos, maps and artifacts from mountaineering days gone by.
