More than just a hotel, Les Fermes de Marie is a destination in itself. Jocelyne and Jean-Louis Sibuet, native Savoyards, have become known for their imaginative hotel projects. In the 1990s they created Les Fermes de Marie, a new concept in luxury lodging: a hamlet composed of nine centuries-old mountain chalets that were dismantled from various alpine locations and reassembled in a 5-acre park that's a lovely 15-minute walk from the village, following a mountain stream.
ROOMS: With a total of 71 rooms and suites, the interlinked chalets combine Savoyard simplicity, rustic antique decor and absolute luxury. For those who are looking for more privacy, two private chalets are available, Chalet des Fermes, is a spectacular three-story, five-bedroom lodge with cathedral ceilings, full kitchen, sauna, massage area and fitness room, overlooking the Massif du Jaillet.
FOOD & DRINKS: The complex includes a bar and two restaurants, one traditional French, the other offering alpine specialties including many cheese dishes.
Restaurant Traditionnel advocates cuisine using fresh produce for traditional, elegant oven-cooked dishes. The menu features cuisine that pays particular attention to nutritional balance, energy and fitness, without losing out on flavor.
At Restaurant Alpin, you will truly experience real Savoyard traditions. Sample alpine specialties, such as cheese fondue, raclette or the lesser-known pella. And there is always the dessert trolley, where the inimitable Mont-Blanc gateau rises proudly between the blueberry tart and the poached vanilla pears.
SPA & WELLNESS: The Spa of Les Fermes de Marie is a lovely mountain forest-themed spa. It carries the very essence of the philosophy developed by the Pure Altitude brand, created by the Sibuet Family and sold throughout France. Treatment rituals that combine gentle gestures and effective ingredients for powerful results. Additional facilities include an indoor swimming pool surrounded by bay windows, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, indoor and outdoor saunas and a fitness room.
LOCATION: 10-minute walk from the village, following a mountain stream, 2 minutes drive.
