The newly-built Matterhorn Lodge is located in the heart of Zermatt on a quiet and sunny side street. This Lodge continues an old family tradition of hotel owners and keepers: it was built on the plot of land where, in the early thirties, grandfather Theodor Lauber with his son Elias erected the Dom Hotel, the same family who built the first hotel in Zermatt – the Monte Rosa.
Constructed from local wood and Mattertal valley stone, which gives the traditional alpine touch, the Matterhorn Lodge matches the surrounding historical buildings and transmits a feeling of warmth and coziness. The Lodge offers luxurious accommodation in hotel rooms, two suites and a fabulous six bed penthouse apartment, as well as a cozy lounge around an open fireplace and the Solvay Bar, and a spacious wellness area.
SPA & WELLNESS: Spa “Muttgletscher “ focuses on the healing powers and energy from the local surroundings; Matterhorn rocks, mountain water and the enchanting scents from the forest and alpine flowers. The spacious wellness area includes special energy stones, Finnish sauna, Bio sauna, steam bath, relaxation pool, experience showers, Relaxation room and massage room (massage and beauty treatments on request).
FOOD & DRINK: “Hotel Garni” - No restaurant, but the Solvay Bar & lounge area surrounding an open fireplace where you can enjoy Swiss breakfast, or drinks in the evening.
LOCATION: Centrally located in the middle of Zermatt, 1 minute walk to the famous Zermatt Bahnhofstrasse or the ski bus stop for skiing and hiking.
