Rosa Alpina, “the” hotel in the Dolomites. While there are others, none can match the sense of place that you feel as a guest here, where 3 generations of family ownership and management means that every unique detail has been selected by them, and the intimate hands-on service and care offered by the Pizzinini family is totally authentic and second to none.
As you meander through the extensive public areas, you sense different periods of the hotel’s history (which has been in the hands of the Pizzinini’s since 1940), when wings were added and art and collectibles gathered from the surrounding region of Sud Tirol. Or as in the recent addition of a new & modern spa wing built of bright pine, and the “new” old billiards room, furbished with the original wood paneling from the living room of Jepele Frontull, current owner Hugo Pizzinini‘s great-grandfather.
ROOMS & SUITES: All rooms and suites are decorated individually, but the style and details is similar through out: plaster, local stone and bright pine, accented with local art, photographs, antiques & fireplaces. The Rosa Alpina Cabin is a remote private mountain hut located at 2000m available only for hotel guests. Luxurious bedding and local antiques, no hot water and limited electricity = total peace and quiet!
SPA & WELLNESS: The extensive wellness area of the Rosa Alpina consists of 2 distinct areas, one suitable for families and the newly opened Adults-only wellness facility, complete with indoor swimming pool, sauna, yoga studio and gym. A full menu of beauty treatments is available using Murad & “Pharmos Natur” Green luxury products. For the body we recommend the “Alpine Herbs Muscle Relief Aromatic Massage”; Dolomite Pine and arnica relieve muscle tension and melissa (lemon balm) relaxes the mind and body.
FOOD & WINE: Restaurant St. Hubertus (2 Stars Michelin), whose name stands for the patron saint of the hunters, is born from chef Norbert Niederkofler's love of home cooking and local quality products. The Wine Bar & Grill is a casual restaurant, specializing in grilled meat, home made pasta dishes, and pizza from the wood fired oven. And the Fondue Stube serves cheese & meat fondue.
LOCATION: The small village of San Cassiano 1535m, with only 700 inhabitants, is located in the mountain region of Alta Badia in the South Tyrolean Dolomites, in the shadow of iconic peaks such as the Sella massif and Sassongher.
