The most “traditional” of the St. Moritz 5-stars, the Suvretta House is a testimony to classic Swiss hospitality. A modern-day castle, where tea time, dinner jackets, and piano music played in the lobby are still the norm. But this tradition does not exclude change, as the hotel has all the comforts that you would expect from a modern 5-star hotel. It is not surprising with this feeling of tradition that guests return to this quiet haven of luxury time and time again.
Dating back to 1912 and still owned by the founding family, the Suvretta House is set in park-like grounds immediately adjacent to the Corviglia Ski area. Spacious rooms and suites have been completely renovated in a fresh and modern style with classic accents. The elevated position of the hotel affords magnificent views from every aspect, but our favorite rooms are south-facing with balconies, and views across the valley to the lake.
With 2 restaurants and 2 bars, plus 3 mountain restaurants, and extensive wellness area, ice rink, tennis, golf putting and pitching green, and direct access to the slopes, the Suvretta House is a place you’ll hardly believe exists, but you’ll never want to leave.
SPA & WELLNESS: The Suvretta Waterworld includes a 25-metre pool, sauna worlds, an outdoor whirlpool heated to 36°C, Hydrojet beds, and two sauna areas Marina (mixed) and Aurora (ladies only). Modern beauty treatments, invigorating massages and therapies round our beauty care spectrum. We recommend the Alpine Therapy, which uses the healing properties of local mudpacks, alpine hay and Rügen chalk to combat tension, Rheumatic disorders, stimulate circulation, and boost overall wellbeing.
FOOD & DRINK: “The Grand Restaurant”, head chef Bernd Ackermann (15 points GaultMillau) celebrates his philosophy of market-fresh French cuisine with an international flavor. After 7pm, guests uphold Suvretta traditions on the Grand Étage, where gentlemen are asked to wear dark suits in the grand oak-paneled dining room and lobby bars.
“The Suvretta Stube” serves light interpretations of favourite Suvretta classics, Swiss specialities and authentic Grisons dishes, in a casual atmosphere. and the relaxed Suvretta House Club Bar is an ideal meeting place for a spur-of-the-moment beverage.
Suvretta House properties include three off-site restaurants, each with a distinctive style. The Chasellas serves simple meals for lunch, and in the evenings, surprises its guests with gourmet specialties. The Trutz is known for its delightfully rustic fare.
LOCATION: The Suvretta House lies in a natural park landscape, surrounded by the Suvretta-Corviglia winter sports and hiking region, 2 km to the west of St. Moritz. A free shuttle bus service provides transport to the village, and a ski lift located by the hotel takes skiers directly to the base station of the Suvretta chair lift.
