A modern gem below the Matterhorn, the Omnia is a comfortable mix of sleek design and warmth. Choose a book from the library and relax in a vintage Eero Saarinen lounge with uninterrupted views of the famous peak. The Omnia is the contemporary interpretation of the American mountain lodge, reinvented for its European environment by the New York based architect Ali Tayar.
While the materials and the craftsmanship reflect the tradition of the Valais, the furnishings throughout are inspired by a warm, handcrafted modernism. They include pieces by Mies van der Rohe, Raymond Loewy, Vladimir Kagan and Eero Saarinen. Their works are complemented by USM Modular Furniture, which is recognized as a design classic in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. But most of the interior furnishings and fittings are custom-made designs by Ali Tayar, conceived to meet the requirements of the mountain lodge, and handcrafted by local cabinet-makers.
SPA & WELLNESS: In door - outdoor pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, caldarium, flower steam bath, relaxation area and a stunning outdoor whirlpool. Fitness area with state-of-the-art equipment from Technogym, Yoga/Pilates are offered as well as a full menu of massage treatments.
RESTAURANTS AND BAR: Gourmet restaurant Kulinarik serves refined European fare with local ingredients, the lounge bar serves snacks and houses an impressive collection of whiskey. The wine “Cavern” is a secret hideaway for dinner, drinks and live music.
LOCATION: The Omnia lies in the center of Zermatt, high on a rock, 45 meters above the roofs of the town. Passing through a tunnel, guests come to an elevator rising up through the rock, which brings them to the lobby at 1'649.40 meters above sea level. Walking distance to the village center, and bus stops to Matterhorn lift station.
