Heli-skiing in the Alps can be quite a different experience than what guests might be used to in North America or elsewhere. For starters, it is more of an “à la carte” situation, dictated by conditions and location, as opposed to a scheduled number of drops per day. In addition, many of these drops can involve some ski-touring, and navigating complex glacial terrain, this taking longer than typical heli-ski “runs”. But our team of IFMGA / UIAGM mountain guides are excellent at reading the situation, calling in the helicopter, and delivering the best day of riding that you’ve ever had.
Some of our favorite heli-skiing zones are around Zermatt and Cervinia, Verbier, Monterosa, and St. Moritz / Engadin. But it’s possible as well in Courmayeur, Gstaad, and other off-the-radar regions that we would love to tell you more about. Or, if you’re flexible and want to follow the snow, our guides can put together a multi-day ski safari, using helicopters, ski lifts, trains, and taxis to link together a totally unique itinerary.
Whether you’re a seasoned heli-skier who wants to maximize the descents or tackle some of the biggest marquee runs in the Alps, or just want to see the mountains from a different perspective, there is accessible heli-ski terrain for almost all abilities.
