Combining modernity with the past, Jean-Claude Descombes’ architecture will surprise you. Nestled at the foot of the Aiguille du Midi, facing Mont-Blanc, two 4-storey chalets were constructed with respect to both the mountain and the historic town centre. The personality of the design inspired by interior designer Leslie Gauthier has made each space unique. Stone and wood have been treated with care, the materials used are sustainable and the textures have been chosen for their comfort. The “retro-chic mountain” atmosphere gives a sense of 50s/60s-style upscale decor, with a cozy "just like at home" feeling.
The retro design continues in the guest rooms where all of the furniture is tailor-designed in pure vintage spirit, wool-broadcloth fabric curtains, chairs and convertible armchairs stand out against the oak parquet flooring.
SPA & WELLNESS The Spa by Nuxe with high ceilings and bay windows includes an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi & Onsen, a Japanese hot tub, overlooking Mont Blanc. The “Banya” a traditional Russian steam room, tepidarium and ice grotto and ice bath. A full menu of massage and beauty treatments is available.
FOOD & DRINK: The Restaurant Heliopic serves traditional French cuisine with a spotlight on seasonal ingredients. Theme-based menus, proposing raclettes and fondues, and recipes influenced by the mountains. The bar is a favorite for après ski frequently featuring live music.
LOCATION: The Heliopic is located immediately adjacent to the l'Aiguille du Midi cable-car, walking distance to all shops & restaurants in Chamonix village.
